We do the unglamorous work that gets claims approved
Tracing, correcting, drafting and chasing — for investors and families who would rather not spend two years learning how Registrars think.
Why this work exists
An enormous amount of money in India belongs to people who do not know they own it. Shares bought in the 1970s and 1980s were held on paper, dividends came by post, and addresses changed. When the investor moved, married, migrated or died, the paper trail broke — and after seven unclaimed years, the law moved both the dividends and the shares to the Investor Education and Protection Fund.
Nothing about that process is designed to cheat anyone. But recovering the asset requires knowing which of a dozen procedures applies, in what order, with which forms, on which stamp value, addressed to which officer. Most people attempt it once, get a rejection letter with no explanation, and give up.
What we are
PhysicalShare Consultancy is an independent private consultancy. We prepare and pursue recovery documentation on behalf of shareholders and their legal heirs. We are not a broker, we do not manage money, and we do not take custody of your securities — recovered shares are credited directly to your demat account and dividends directly to your bank account.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with SEBI, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the IEPF Authority, any stock exchange, depository, company or Registrar & Transfer Agent, and we do not act with their authority. Every process we handle can be pursued directly by you, free of professional charge. We earn our fee by making a slow, technical, error-prone process someone else's problem — not by holding exclusive access to anything.
How we work
- Assess before we accept. If a case is straightforward, or the likely recovery does not justify the cost and effort, we tell you rather than take the engagement.
- Price in writing, in advance. A success-linked professional fee plus itemised out-of-pocket costs. No open-ended retainers.
- One person owns your file. You are not re-explaining your father's estate to a new voice every month.
- Confidentiality by default. Family and financial details are shared only with the company, Registrar or authority that requires them for your claim.
The cases we are best at
Deceased holders with no nomination and no will. Certificates lost decades ago. Companies that have merged through three names. Folios where the name, PAN and bank record all disagree. Claims that have already been rejected once. Estates spread across several companies, Registrars and asset classes at the same time.
Simple cases we are happy to point you through yourself.
Not sure whether you have anything to claim?
Send us the names and we will check the records for you — free, and with no obligation to proceed.
